=> Stock Broker | 2014?
After being laid off at IT company, I decided it was great to make the move. I wanted to switch completely from IT field to Financial Investment field. The first step could be applying to be a broker. I believed that the professional trading environment definitely boosted my trading performance in long term. Let’s see how things will go.
1. VietBright Fund | 2011 – present
In 2011, a friend asked me about if I want to trade for him. It was a so nice idea to me as I was always looking for a chance to get back on trading. And so, Viet Bright Fund was born. I operated it as a Mutual Fund that allowed my friends to deposit more money or withdraw some whenever they want. I tried my best to have good trading result so I could make the fund bigger by having more shares from friends and increasing the NAV of each share. By the end of Q1/2014, my VBF had more than 30,000 shares with NAV over 14,500 vnd.
My dream is to make VBF become as big as I can and hopefully one day, I could turn it legally and publicly.
2. Forex Trader | 2013 – present
In 2013, I decided to get back to Gold Trading. I opened an online account at FXPro and then discovered a new trading world called Forex. This massive market is so exciting and I was shocked to see that allowed us to use Margin 0.5% or Leverage 1:200. It seemed there’s no limit in this over 3,000 billion USD daily market. With experiences in Gold trading in 2009, this time, I want to take it real slow, keep learning and try to stay survive at first.
3. BlogDauTu.com | 2012 – present | www.BlogDauTu.com
In 2012, I set up a new website called BlogDauTu.com (Investment Blog). I collected and posted useful trading documents, trading experiences, stories about the world great investors… I hope that these information could help myself and others to be a better trader and maybe someday, this website becomes popular, I could have some money from online advertisers or potential customers for my Broker career.
4. Gold Trader | 2009 – 2010
ACB was the pioneer that allowed people to trade Gold. During that time, there was like a Gold Rush in Vietnam and I was in as well. The so low margin (7%) and the ability to Short/Long in minutes looked so amazing to me. I learnt about Technical Analysis, read economic news worldwide, waited for important news released during US sessions to trade follow. But unfortunately, this was also the first time I knew the feeling of getting your account burnt in front of your eyes. I quit the Gold trading in 2010 and got back to IT career.
5. Stock Trader | 2008 – 2010
In 2008, I was overwhelmed by the exciting from Stock Market. I quit my IT job to become a full time Stock Trader. I learnt Fundamental Analysis to pick up the best stocks. Besides my own money, I also borrowed a lot of money from my family and friends, some with high interest rate. The long bear market and the pressure to pay debts finally swept me out. I quit Stock trading in 2010 and got back to IT career.
